Faith & Encouragement — “Your Life Still Matters"

Affirmation

I am still part of God’s purpose. My age does not diminish my worth. God can continue to use my life to bless others.

Scripture

Psalm 92:14–15 (ESV)

“They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green, to declare that the LORD is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.”

Devotional

There are seasons in life when it is easy to wonder, “Do I still matter? Is there still something meaningful for me to do?” As the years pass, roles may change. Life can look very different from what it did years ago. But different does not mean diminished. Psalm 92 gives senior adults a beautiful promise: “They still bear fruit in old age.” God never says that usefulness has an expiration date. In fact, some of the most valuable fruit you can produce grows only after years of walking with God.You have lived long enough to know that storms do not last forever. You have seen prayers answered that once seemed impossible. You have experienced disappointments that did not destroy you. You have learned that God can make a way when there appears to be no way. That testimony is fruit.Every encouraging phone call can be fruit. Every prayer you pray for your children and grandchildren can be fruit. Every lesson you share with someone younger can be fruit. Every act of kindness, every word of wisdom, and every expression of faith can become part of the legacy you leave behind.God is not finished with you simply because you have reached a certain age.Your assignment may have changed, but your purpose has not disappeared.Perhaps your greatest ministry today is not standing before crowds but speaking into the life of one person. Perhaps it is praying faithfully for your family. Perhaps it is encouraging another senior who feels lonely. Perhaps it is mentoring someone who needs the wisdom God has given you through the years. As long as God gives you breath, there is still an opportunity to bear fruit. Today, remind yourself that you still matter because your story is still being written.

Reflection

1. What experiences from my life has God used to strengthen my faith?

2. Who could benefit today from the wisdom, encouragement, or testimony God has given me?

3. What kind of spiritual legacy do I want to leave for the generations following me?

Prayer

Gracious Father, thank You for every year, every season, every lesson, and every experience You have allowed me to live through. Remind me that my life still has purpose and that You are not finished with me. Help me resist the temptation to believe that age has made me less valuable. Show me where I can continue to serve, encourage, pray, mentor, and bless others. Let my remaining years continue to declare that You are faithful. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

This Month's Action Steps

1. Encourage someone today. Call, text, or write a note to someone who may need a word of hope.

2. Share one lesson from your journey. Tell a child, grandchild, younger adult, or friend something God has taught you through experience.

3. Pray intentionally for the next generation. Choose three people and commit to

praying for their faith, families, and future this week.

Remember: You are not merely growing older, you are carrying a lifetime of experiences God can still use for His glory and the good of others.
